Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.Greenstone Mine is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join our Team. Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the Systems Administrator is responsible for managing workstations, applications, network infrastructure, servers and ensuring IT Helpdesk tickets are addressed within the company Service Level framework. They will also be responsible for leading infrastructure related projects (server upgrades, networking architecture, etc.), performing research on new technologies, and making recommendations for implementation.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:System AdministrationAdminister various IT systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, Remote Desktop, SQL and Microsoft 365Manage VoIP infrastructureEnsure outsourced, hosted and/or managed solution providers adhere to agreed performance standards and policies by providing oversight and controlsProvide suggestions for improvements based on discoveries made with a view to reducing recurring faults or improving the service provisionStay informed on new and emerging trends and technologiesNetwork InfrastructureParticipate in the development, implementation, and improvement of IT infrastructure, operations and services deployed both on premise and on cloudEnsure IT-related systems and infrastructure are secure, available, reliable, and responsive through development, implementation and maintenance of procedures, processes, and solutionsMaintain and update documentation of procedures, network diagrams and support processesHelpdesk and OperationsResponsible for the day-to-day delivery of support to the organization and act as the first point of contact on the IT HelpdeskOwn all aspects of IT Service Management including but not limited to Asset, Incident, Request, Change and Release ManagementEnsure suitable and effective end-user training is established and maintained at all locationsTelecommunicationsMaintain, monitor, and troubleshoot radios and point to point equipment.SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESProficient in Helpdesk ticketing softwareSolid Networking skills (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Switches & Access Points)Strong skills in management of Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, SQL and Microsoft 365Good understanding of cloud computing environments (Microsoft Azure)Working knowledge of Voice platformsExperience with radios and points to point equipment an assetEnergetic, goal oriented, detail conscious and methodical in their approach to projectsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsGood written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively using various mediums while maintaining IT department’s commitment to customer excellence.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Access)EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONPostsecondary education in Computer Science or similar education and equivalent work experienceMinimum 3+ years of relevant work experience with a focus on network and system administrationExperience in management of storage and data backup systemsExposure to Project Management methodologies (Waterfall/Agile)Familiar with relational database management systems including SQL server an assetIT Certification e.g., MCSE, MCSA, ITIL, CCNA, etc. an assetPrevious experience in a start up is an assetPrevious experience in a mining project environment is an asset.LOCATIONThis position will be based in Geraldton, ON on a rotational basis for the duration of the project.Greenstone Mine provides company transporation from multiple pick-up point locations.We thank all candidates for their applications, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Greenstone Gold Mines is committed to inclusiveness, equity, and accessibility.
