Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Maintenance General Foreman to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the Mine Maintenance General Foreman is responsible for directing repairs, overhauls and new builds to mining related equipment. This position will employ reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting functions, planning and execution of maintenance functions.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:Ensure all crews are completing their work in compliance with Company Safety Policies and OH&S LegislationParticipate in daily/weekly safety meetingsWork with the superintendent to meet schedules and project specificationsPlan, set priorities, and organized the work for the foreman/crews/sub-contractorsEnsure site documentation/data is completed and submitted on time (progress reports, timesheets, coding, work logs, etc.)Complete daily planning with materials and warehouse staffEnsure work is completed according to drawings and specificationsAct as a liaison between site crews and administration/managementJob tasks may be physically demanding lifting to 50 lbsVarious other duties as requested by managementSKILLS AND COMPETENCIESStrong commitment to safetyExperience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipmentStrong written and verbal communicationExperience with Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment is considered an assetWilling to adapt and work in an inclusive work environmentWilling to perform repetitive tasksComfortable working at heightsProficient utilizing MS Office programsKnowledge of quality fundamentalsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong leadership attributesOntario Common Core an assetSAP experience an assetEXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONRed Seal Journeyperson certificationRemote location working environmentPrior experience in an industrial setting – mine site experience is an assetKomatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment OEM standards maintainedValid driver’s licenseLOCATIONThis position will be based in Geraldton, ON on a rotational basis.Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up points.We thank all candidates for their applications, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Greenstone Gold Mines is committed to inclusiveness, equity, and accessibility.
