Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.Greenstone Mine is seeking a Face Shovel Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Face Shovel Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating a 600ton face shovel.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Operate the 600ton face shovel in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures. Wearing personal protective equipment in designed areas. Perform Field Level Risk Assessments. Maintain a high level of housekeeping as well as refilling all fluids as required. Conducting pre-operational checks of the shovel. Perform a walk-around inspection before, during, and after every shift. Complete logbooks and daily reports on delays, productions, and safety issues. Use two-way-radio, and horn signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety. Troubleshoot in accordance with regulations and approved procedures, may perform minor repairs as required and report all issues to dispatch. Safely operate and maneuver the shovel around the mine. Use the face shovel according to operating practices to excavate materials such as overburden and blasted rock. Use the face shovel according to operating practices to load 240ton haul trucks safely and efficiently.
