In this role you will be responsible for promoting a safe and positive work environment while managing a growing team of Ramp Coordinators, Leads, and Ground Handlers. You will work closely with the General Manager as well as maintain strong relationships with our airline partners and airport stakeholders. We are looking for an energetic and dynamic problem solver, progressive thinker, and someone who has the proven ability to lead and create a caring team member culture that delivers on its commitments to safety, exemplary service, and continuous improvement.Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the day-to-day ground handling operations for the Halifax (YHZ) station are set up for success
  • Support ramp and terminal operations during vacation / irregular operations events to promote safety and operational coordination between ramp and CSA teams
  • Manage and promote safety ensuring incidents and hazards are managed in accordance with the company and airline SMS programs
  • Manage local quality assurance through audits and procedural reviews
  • Ensure ground operations training is delivered effectively and in a timely manner to ensure the ground operations team members have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely and efficiently
  • Be certified as a ground operations trainer to deliver effective training as required by operational needs
  • Provide hands on on-the-job training and leadership to ensure team members are fully qualified and certified to perform their role
  • Ensure all team members are current on training and the appropriate training records are current for both EA and airline partners
  • Analyze operational needs and Service Level Agreements while looking for opportunities to create efficiencies.
  • Manage relationships with airline partners and the airport stakeholders to ensure we meet or exceed program and contract requirements and to represent Executive Aviation’s commitment to safety and customer service
  • Promote managerial best practices and ensure company policies and procedures are in place and being followed
  • Provide guidance and leadership that supports team members in their career development
  • Foster an engaging, high-performing work environment that continually demonstrates a commitment to safety, exceptional operational performance, and teamwork
  • Contribute to all aspects of recruiting and onboarding new team members
  • Responsible for supporting/approving BTW payroll as required
  • Ensure daily administration is completed to a high standard (flight logs, audits, equipment checks, safety inspections)
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ aviation ground handling experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively train and support team members to reach their full potential
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Must be able to hold a valid RAIC/ Security clearance for airside access
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to support a 24/7 operation with varying shifts that provide the team with support where and when it is needed
