Internal/External Job PostingPOSITION: Swimming InstructorSALARY: $22.33 per hour = $19.59 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits (Jan.1.2020 rates)CLASSIFICATION: JB05HOURS OF WORK: 2-20 hours per week based on availability and operational needs.Shifts are primarily available for weekday evenings between 4 and 8PM, plusSaturdays and Sundays between 9AM and 1PM.STATUS: AuxiliaryCLOSING DATE: August 3rd, 2021, at 12:00PM – EXTENDED UNTIL – August 31st, 2021 at 12:00PMCOMPETITION #: 21-24SUMMARY: Are you looking to dip your toes into the work force West Shore Parks & Recreation is seekingpositive and outgoing Swimming Instructors to put the fun into swimming lessons. We offer flexible workhours in a supportive, inclusive, and friendly environment. Swimming Instructors are responsible for planningand delivering a variety of aquatic programs to participants of all ages and abilities. Our primary focus is ondelivering exceptional programs which are safe and fun for everyone.JOB DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Plan, teach, and evaluate swimming lessons for all ages from babies through adults.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, and assisting pool users as needed.
  • Complete written lesson progress cards and other basic reports accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Bronze Cross.
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED.
  • Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI).
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and dealing with difficult situations in a positive,
courteous and effective manner.
  • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Water Fit Instructor certification and another relevant instructor certification are highly desirable.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who are also certified in National Lifeguard – Pool Option, who
