Job Description

Job Title :Remote Site Technician, UndergroundReference Number :TCQ-22-9993Division :MiningJob City :Hope BayProvince :NunavutSite :Position Status :Permanent, Full timeWork Shift :2wks in/out Rotation (Fly-in/Fly-out)Work Schedule :Length of Assignment :Job description :The Remote Site Technicians assigned to underground mobile mining services and repairs will safely and effectively diagnose and repair Caterpillar mining and earthmoving equipment in a timely manner while ensuring positive customer relations.Note: Rotational Schedule of 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out or 3 weeks in or 3 weeks (remote site premium applies).

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
  • Repair, allied or competitive Caterpillar earthmoving equipment underground as required, within the established time standards
  • Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Participate as an integrated member of onsite mechanical staff
  • Maintain good customer relations
  • Comply with customer safety policies and procedures
Note: All internals must notify their current manager of their interest in the position.Job Qualifications :
  • Post Secondary Education with a valid Heavy Equipment Technician Licence
  • Highly safety conscious with a minimum of 5 years experience as a Technician
  • Team player willing to work underground in rotational shifts and on call schedules in support of the business needs
  • Certification in Underground Common Core
  • Basic knowledge electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Customer centric with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Focused, energetic, self-motivated and organized with superior attention to detail
  • Proven ability to complete repairs/service within established time guidelines in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Proven computer skills (specifically, SIS, CAT ET, DBS, Microsoft Applications)
  • Valid Driver’s Licence with a clean Driver’s Abstract
