FARM MANAGER - JUNIPERCavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island; Lethbridge, Alberta; Jamestown, North Dakota; and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick with sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.The Farm Manager reports to the Seed Operations Manager who is off-site, giving the farm manager full ownership of daily operations. This is a perfect arrangement if you like to work independently but also have a knowledgeable resource just a phone call away.The main responsibilities of the role are in three distinct areas: greenhouse crop production, field crop production and the administration required to successfully plan and execute planting, growing, harvesting and storage of the seed potato crops.The potatoes produced at the Juniper site represent the majority of the seed supply required to support the Cavendish Farms manufacturing sites on PEI. The operation works closely with, and supplies seed to both internal and external customers in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI.The Juniper site also has a role to multiply and bring to market new varieties being bred and developed by the Cavendish Farms Research Centre. The Research Centre has been tasked to develop potato varieties that thrive in the changing environment of the areas where Cavendish Farms operates.Juniper, New Brunswick is a rural community and is a great place for hiking, fishing and other outdoor activities such as trail driving with all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiling.Key qualifications:
