Job Description

ABOUT THE COMPANYSabina Gold & Silver Corp. is a well-financed Canadian precious metals company on track to become a mid-tier gold producer. The Company has a portfolio of properties in Canada at different stages of development. Our flagship project, the Back River Gold Project, is located in the western Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. Through our Nunavut assets, Sabina is evolving from a successful exploration company to a developer. Sabina is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (“SBB”).ABOUT THE POSITIONWorking in a remote camp setting on a rotational (3x3) basis with limited access to resources, the Dozer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Dozers in a construction setting to ensure the ongoing development of the Back River Project. The Dozer Operator will follow and promote compliance with Sabina’s site safety policies and procedures while working with a multidisciplinary team in an open-pit environment. We are seeking 2 individuals to start on May 4 or 25, 2023.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to the Supervisor, Open Pit & Earthworks or Designate, duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • The safe and efficient operation of various sized dozers (D6 to D9) to manage dumps, construction and grading of haul roads, and perform other tasks as required;
  • Conduct and document pre- and post-operational inspections on equipment and report any deficiencies to Supervisor or designate;
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment such as clean, lubricate, and refill equipment;
  • Work with multidisciplinary crew to ensure the ongoing development and construction of the Back River Project and maintain cleanliness of project areas;
  • Operate 2-way radios and liaise with project teams as required;
  • Transport materials to and from storage and shop areas; and
  • Promote compliance to Sabina’s site safety procedures and policies.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will have experience working in remote settings with limited access to resources. Additionally, they will have:
  • Five (5) years’ experience operating heavy equipment in construction and/or open-pit mining environment, combined with significant dozer operating experience;
  • Completion of a Heavy Equipment Operating ticket preferred;
  • Completion of High School Diploma or GED;
  • Ability to move, lift, and carry up to 50lbs and ability to walk up to (but not limited to) 5km daily in adverse weather conditions; and
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and converse to ensure safe working conditions on site.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSFor informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings for 2184 scheduled hours in a work year is $104,728.00. Competitive benefits and travel compensation will be discussed with the successful candidate.Due to high occupancy during this phase of construction the successful candidate(s) may be assigned shared accommodations.
