We are looking for two Business Improvement Advisors to be part of a high performing Business Improvement team which is committed to transforming the way we run our business, using technology to achieve a step change in safety and productivity at the Smelter & Power Station in Kitimat, BC. By using your skillset, you will influence decisions and deliver significant improvements in our businessThe role is a great opportunity to showcase how you can deliver significant value through the identification, execution, and support of high value projects across our operation. With a global reach, the opportunities to develop and grow your career are broad and exciting.Reporting to the Business Improvement Manager and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be:
  • Supporting and assisting our teams to identify, deliver and support sustainable improvements through business improvement methods and use of technology
  • Developing and maintaining data analytics solutions to support operational decision making and governance
  • Supporting and coaching others in delivering improvement opportunities and building their technology skillset
  • Ensuring projects and processes compliant with safety standards and of utmost priority
  • Providing coaching to leaders to support the adoption of a business improvement culture.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with leaders and employees.
  • Developing and delivering training for business improvement tools and methodologies using training standards and material.
  • Leading business improvement projects

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • The ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Previous experience in facilitating change in an operational environment
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including time management skills
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to work independently
  • Proficient data analytics & visualization skills, including use of Microsoft Power BI & Power Platform products
  • Qualifications and experience in the use of Lean and/or Six Sigma improvement, such as Kaizens, Root Cause Analysis, Practical Problem Solving
  • Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certification (completed or in progress)
It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or related field
  • Experience within the mining, processing, or manufacturing industry
