Come join the team making Canadian history!About the RoleThe Electrical Technician Apprentices will report to the E, I & A Team Lead and they will have the opportunity to gain extensive experience working alongside the maintenance Technician team on the process, utilities, and marine equipment. Commissioning and Start-up will broaden the learning opportunities with the possibility of apprentices contributing to quality assurance activities.The electrical apprentice’s responsibilities include completing all tasks assigned by the maintenance team lead, which may include assisting with installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibrations of electrical systems and equipment. You should be eager to learn, responsible for time management, and able to follow instructions.To succeed with us in Maintenance & Turnaround, we need your enthusiasm to:

You will be responsible to:
  • Observe and comply with Health and safety protocols.
  • Learn from the certified Journeyperson Electricians and complete assigned duties safely and effectively.
  • Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and assist with repairs of equipment and electrical faults.
  • Complete electrical installations under and carrying out various maintenance duties under supervision.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Develop strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Identify and escalate all safety observation and opportunities for improvement
  • Support site continuous improvement both in terms of efficiency but also digitalization initiatives and opportunities to drive best in class performance.
  • Drive best in class performance by embracing a learner mindset to become a digitally enabled technician of the future, leveraging data, technology, automation and analytics.
  • Effectively manage updates to logs and Digital maintenance systems.
To be successful, you will have:
  • 3rd or 4th year Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship status
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant apprenticeship work experience
  • Fluent and articulate in English
  • Valid Driving license
This role requires that you:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • Successfully complete successive years of industrial schooling on time, and with the outcome of Red Seal Journeyperson
  • Know that this role is based in Kitimat, BC.
  • Relocate to Kitimat/Terrace, BC
  • Target to start January 2023
  • Are willing to work outdoors during inclement weather in all seasons including heavy snowfall and periods of heavy rain.
  • Are able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces. Plant design conditions provide structures that are significantly taller than common in industry, and individuals must be comfortable with heights as well as travel to and from the workface at heights.
  • Are able to work wearing a respirator or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, a background check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
