Together we are able to meet the diverse needs of our clients across the country, offering everything from specialized services to large, complex end-to-end solutions.QM’s four business lines include Demolition and Decommissioning, Hazardous Materials Abatement, Environmental Remediation including Civil Earthworks, and Emergency Management & Environmental Response Services.POSITION SUMMARYQM Environmental is looking for highly motivated Labourer to work at our Kitimat site, BC. Employees will have the opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of demolition work and to contribute to a safe and successful project.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESKey responsibilities include the following:
  • Reads, understands, and follows Corporate Health and Safety Program, Policies and Procedures
  • Ensures health and safety is considered in the performance of all activities
  • Participation in Health & Safety initiatives will be monitored and reviewed as necessary
  • Operate hand and power tools of all types: hammers, measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades as required at construction sites
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
  • Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment
  • Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed
  • Tend to or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors, and pumps
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KEY COMPETENCIESEducation/ Experience:
  • Grade 12 is an asset
  • 1 to 2 years of demolition or construction experience preferred
  • Having a valid Driver’s License and vehicle would be an asset
Abilities:
  • Able to work long hours, overtime, and possible weekend work in various weather conditions
  • Willing and able to work away from home for lengthy periods of time on different projects
  • English language – verbal, reading, and written comprehension
  • Must be able to lift 25-50 Lbs.
  • Be fit for work every day
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
WORK ENVIRONMENTWork will be on a demolition work site. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required for all site work.
