Job Description

Matrix is hiring a Distribution Centre Manager (DCM) for our client in Kitimat, BC. The DCM is responsible for providing customer service excellence to our client base via the execution of work processes across the distribution centre designed to support efficient, safe and high-quality workmanship. The salary range is $100K-$120K/ annually based on experience.City

Responsibilities:
  • Exposure to the Oil and Gas Industry is a must.
  • Lead/participate in customer negotiations.
  • Ensure a proactive approach to relationship management.
  • Participate in new business implementation project management.
  • Participate in bids, tenders, and RFPs.
  • Ensure billing / invoicing accuracy.
  • Promote the integration of CL and road/rail activities where applicable.
  • Review forecasts monthly reflective of the current and future state of the business, take action to improve negative trends, and report deviations to plan.
  • Full accountability for the performance of direct reports.
  • Set SMART goals and projects to achieve individual, distribution centre, and divisional results.
  • Support employee engagement/retention initiatives, succession planning, and internal promotions within the DC.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to ensure efficient, standardized and ‘best in class’ logistics operations.
  • Promote a culture of safety to ensure all reasonable precautions are taken for the protection of workers.
  • Plan long-range labour requirements based on sales forecasts and input from direct reports.
  • Develop space utilization plans to meet prescribed cost and service standards.
  • Ensure that all quality and regulatory requirements of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirements are met.
  • Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety & Security programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property.
  • Strive for continuous improvements in all facets of warehouse operations.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of the development and execution of the companys strategy.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years experience in Contract Logistics / 3PL / Distribution Centre / Warehouse environment.
  • 7+ years experience in warehouse leadership and warehouse inventory in a complex 3PL environment.
  • Diploma/Degree in International Business, Transportation, Logistics, Customs, or a related field preferred.
  • Oil and Gas, Vast Health and Safety, and quality management.
  • Manage and execute a broad range of warehouse functions (shipping, receiving, picking, packing, returns, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety and employment standards legislation, and of common workplace hazards and associated controls (Bill C45).
  • Knowledge of technical processes related to standard warehouse equipment and applications such as racking, WMS systems, and MHE.
  • Knowledge of various production and quality systems (GxP, ISO, Lean, TPS, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Proven proficiency in an automated warehouse environment.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical distribution centre is considered an asset.
  • Prepare and interpret operational financial reports.
  • In-depth understanding of company operations, sales environment, and cost structures.
  • Strong customer orientation and problem-solving skills.
Pay Rate
  • $100,000-$120,000 based on experience.
