Job Description

Matrix is hiring a remote, full-time, permanent Financial Controller for our incredible client. The annual salary is $130k/per year. Our client has been in business for over 100 years and is a leading provider of industrial Civil Construction, Demolition, Mechanical, Fabrication, Site Services, and Project Management.Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all company accounts and investments
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Support the local Operations Director and Sales Director to ensure they make informed decisions based on high quality, relevant and up-to-date information
  • Supervise and manage the local financial department staff
  • Take the lead on local finance projects such as systems transition and migration, restructuring, streamlining and outsourcing projects
  • Motivate and lead the local finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Manage all loans, other borrowings and local banking relationships
  • Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
  • Report to the finance team with timely and accurate financial information
  • Assist the finance team in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
Requirements:
  • Management experience; leadership skills; interpersonal skills; outstanding mathematical skills
  • Honesty; integrity; reliability; solid written and verbal communication skills; High attention to detail; organizational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; analytical skills; IT and excel skills; understanding of data privacy standards.
Qualifications:
  • Fully qualified accountant with a bachelors degree from a prestigious university
  • Several years of experience in a business or finance environment
  • Oil & Gas experience
