You will be fully supported as you continue to build your skills, support a schedule driven project where the emphasis will be on people, client interface, development and management.

  • Reports to Labour Relations Site Lead/Manager
  • Assists with the day-to-day administrative functions supporting labour relations activities
  • Participates in the delivery of labour relations programs and policies
  • Develops contacts and relationships with union representatives, client representatives
  • Participates in the delivery of labour relations training programs
  • Develops, recommends and maintains procedures and systems
  • Develop tracking and reporting systems to monitor utilization of apprentices, underrepresented groups in the workforce, availability of craft labour, retention and turnover
  • Assist in recruitment and placement of apprentices and women in non-traditional employment
  • Meet with or contact local union representatives, agents and job stewards to discuss and resolve project issues
  • Participate in assigned labour relations committees or other committees as established
  • Provide documentation, dealing with labour providers’ representatives and prepare or assist in preparing written assignments where necessary
  • Evaluate training provided including participation, course content, effectiveness, etc., and revise and revamp course material and arrangements for future courses.
  • Develop, recommend and maintain procedures and systems within Labour Relations
  • Adhere to established administrative practices and procedures and evaluate and recommend revisions where necessary
  • In conjunction with the Labour Relations Team, develop programs, policies, procedures and site rules for field application
  • Provide information, statistical data and reports to the Project Management
To be Considered Candidates:Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.Basic Job Requirements
  • Experience in the administration of collective bargaining agreements
  • General knowledge of British Columbia Building Trade Unions and typical union practices
  • Exceptional computer skills, knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Successfully completed the Labour Relations/Human Resources Certification plus 3 to 5 years of Industrial Relations and/or Human Resources experience or equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Have the ability to make decisions and recommendations on complex issues in a time restricted environment
  • Exercise considerable judgment and initiative in interpreting policy and labour agreements.
