Reporting to the Permit to Work Manager/Lead, you will undertake regular and ongoing liaison and coordination with the Construction, HSSE, Field engineering and Environmental teams to ensure all controls for Life Critical Tasks are implemented to ensure that work is safe to begin.ACCOUNTABILITIES:Ensure all disciplines adhere to Safe Work permits and isolations, procedures, and policies to protect people, property, environment and the reputation of LNGCanada.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Review submitted permit to work documents and packages
  • Coordinate with Contractor to assure that content of permit is complete and applicable
  • Coordinate and confirm work scope covered by work permit approved by JFJV Area Authority
  • Coordinate with Field Engineering and Technical Services team to verify all technical aspects of work permit applied for are complete and approved with associated supporting documents
  • Coordinate with HSSE advisors as required to verify that all aspects of work permit are in compliance
  • Review Lockout/Tagout isolations and install boundary Lockout/Tagout isolations as required
  • Coordinate with Environmental advisors to verify all environmental aspects of work permits are taken into consideration
  • Coordinate with contractors to close expired or completed work permit
To be Considered Candidates:Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.Basic Job RequirementsSubject matter expert that supports work permits to all groups to achieve compliance of all Life Critical Tasks while maintaining documentation and filing.To be the successful candidate for this role you will possess the following skills:
  • Power Engineering certificate required to be a successful candidate
  • Significant experience in issuing work permits, reviewing isolations, and installing boundary Lockout/Tagout on an oil and gas construction to commissioning site
  • Knowledgeable in interpretation of P&ID’s, SLD’s and as-builts
  • Strong knowledge of HSSE legislation specifically related to a construction to commissioning site
  • Strong understanding of Control of Hazardous energy procedures and boundary permit systems
  • Valid Driver’s License
This unique role will require the successful candidate to be able to adapt to fast changing conditions, as our site progresses from the early works stage, to a fully operational LNG Liquefaction facility.Other Job Requirements
  • Heightened awareness and ability to manage stressful situations while remaining calm an asset.
  • Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
