The PBS team is responsible for developing fit for purpose policies, processes and systems that result in a competitive EVP. The PBS team works with complexity related to the makeup of LNGC’s personnel, with secondees from our joint venture partners and those directly hired and employed by LNGC.As the organization grows, we require a team member focusing on payroll, and complemented by other PBS topics, to contribute to the HR strategy and deliverables.To succeed with us in the Human Resources Team, we need your enthusiasm to:

You will use your expertise to:
  • Have an excellent relationship as the prime liaison with our third-party payroll provider, partnering with them and ensuring payroll compliance and accuracy for completing the payroll cycle within required deadlines, which includes, but is not limited to, reviewing, and completing pay related adjustments, processing records of employments and completing requested reporting.
  • Assisting in payroll transactions including new hires, benefits, salary changes
  • Prime focal for investigating and responding to a variety of payroll related queries
  • Be responsible for working with our third-party payroll provider to build time and attendance processing capability that’s fit for purpose for LNGC’s requirements
  • Be the prime focal on building new allowances and hourly workforce operations schedules in our payroll system
  • Act as an advisor and leader related to payroll system and set up
  • Ensure accuracy on year end payroll deliverables and semi-monthly pension contributions
  • Demonstrate high standards (accuracy, timeliness, compliance)
  • Counsel and be prime focal on several HR policies in the areas of benefits, payroll, and compensation
  • Hold responsibility over several payroll related guides, such as time and attendance guides for leaders and employees
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and updating related manuals and other documentation as required Show flexibility to support other policy, benefits and payroll areas as needed
To be successful, you will have:
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience – previous experience in payroll administration is a must
  • National Payroll Institute membership
  • Experience and knowledge of payroll for shift hourly, salaried employees
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certifications are considered an asset
  • Robust knowledge of HR systems; knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of MS Office; mastery of Excel (i.e., pivot data, data validation)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • University degree or certificate, preferably in Human Resources or business administration
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Outstanding teamwork skills, working in regular, close partnership with HR and business colleagues
  • Knowledge of both British Columbia and Alberta payroll legislation is a definite asset
This role requires that you:
  • Work in a hybrid working model – 2 days a week in our Calgary office location and the remainder at your home.
  • This role can also be based in Kitimat, BC office location with a 2 day per week hybrid working model as above.
  • Know this is a full-time role, 40 hours per week.
  • This role is approximately until 31 October 2024
  • This is a full-time role with benefits, this is not a contractor role
