This role provides project production and technical support on Geomatics projects in both an office and field capacity. The role is responsible for supporting the on-site project manager and coverage for their scheduled days off. Additionally, this person will work with other CAD and Geomatics personnel providing mentorship, expertise, and support.Responsibilities:

  • Coordination with CAD staff, assigning survey requests
  • Work with and assist project manager through various aspects of a project life cycle
  • Proposal / fee estimate preparation
  • Schedule and budget support
  • Data processing and calculations
  • Client management
  • Project closeout / evaluation
  • Preparation and review of work packages
  • Provide support for field and office staff
  • Preparation and checking of survey deliverables (engineering/construction products)
  • On-site position in Kitimat, BC. Shift work, with fly in / fly out
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Degree in Geomatics, Civil, Engineering Design & Drafting, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of direct related experience on the latest versions of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Trimble Business Center.
  • Proficient in Windows; Microsoft Office applications.
  • Member or eligible for registration with local Survey or Technologist Association considered an asset.
  • Strong CAD and survey calculation skills (i.e. surface modelling, volume calculations, QA/QC data processing, basic drafting, etc.)
  • Industrial construction background would be an asset and the ability to interpret construction drawings
  • Proficient in standard surveying principles and good practices.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and processes an asset
  • Strong communication, time management, organizational and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for all staff
  • Strong leadership skills
