Job Description

ServcoCanada is looking for a Safety Advisor on the JFJV site to provide oversight and support of our HSE ProgramAs a safety advisor with ServcoCanada you play a key role in helping to keep workers from becoming injured on the job and keeping our workers returning home to their loved ones at the end of shift.Responsibilities-

  • Provide guidance and coaching to management to exhibit high levels of safety leadership and continuously improve safety performance
  • Facilitate the implementation and administration of corporate HSE policies, processes and systems and monitor compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations
  • Provide consultation and assist in the management of risk through formal risk assessments, job hazard analysis, and project planning
  • Conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and observations to support safe work behaviors and provide recommendations to management
  • Facilitate new employee orientations as per company procedure
  • Assist site supervision in resolving any health, safety and environment issues that may occur
  • Participate in the creation and/or updating of JHA’s
  • Maintain an open line of communication with employees Participate in foreman and client HSE meetings
  • Conduct formal and informal worksite inspections
  • Assist in all incident investigations
  • Participate in safety meetings and deliver safety information
Credentials-
  • Minimum NCSO or equivalent safety designation or education
  • Persons with a diploma/degree in the safety profession will be given preference (But not a requirement to apply)
  • Vaccinated for Covid and able to pass a pre employment Drug and Alcohol test
Other Skills-
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of the job
  • Lead with strong safety leadership through desirable behaviours, attitudes, and mindset to further develop our culture of safety
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Power Point are necessary
  • A personable demeanor in the workplace is essential
Schedule-
  • 14/7 schedule, 10hr days.
  • Preference given to residents of Terrace and Kitimat
  • Camp/flight options for non-local residents
