Job Description

PurposeThe Warehouse Manager is accountable for safe and efficient Warehouse Operations at the Kitimat Site in accordance with applicable LNG Canada policies.Deliver the most competitive and sustainable warehouse operations, enabled by strong collaboration with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers to deliver efficient and effective storage, quality and movement of materials.They will ensure that all Materiel Storage and Handling activities in the Warehouse and Yard Operations are executed Safely and Efficiently, compliant to the HSSE&SP and the AMS MSC (Manage Supply Chain) Standards, and in line with the MSC Strategy and Capacity Plan.

  • Ensures 3rd party Materials Management service providers are following Shell strategy, standards, and policies
  • Improves performance of 3rd party when closely monitored and held accountable
They are also responsible for all processes involved in effectively managing storage space in the site materials warehouse and chemical storage facility. As such, they would actively support assurance checks on
  • Job specific to supporting MM requirements in turnarounds and pitstops
  • Accountable for MM performance undertaken by a 3rd Party MM services provider
  • Work with 3rd party to drive MM requirements and ensure strategy is aligned
  • Carry out regular audits to ensure that 3rd party are following Shell Standards, Policies and Procedures
  • Provide issue resolution between 3rd party and Shell vendors or contractors
Accountabilities
  • Provide leadership at the site level to drive the overall Warehouse performance. Being able to demonstrate competitiveness through a variety of proof points, best in class metrics, ‘should cost’ models and external benchmarking. Also drive robust management of 3rd party Warehouse contractors
  • Ensure the warehouse supports Fail Safely mindset through implementation of robust Contractor Safety Management practices and alignment to personal and process safety areas.
  • Through effective and collaborative contractor management, ensure a competitive warehouse which fosters continuous performance improvements in key metrics (HSSE, Operational and Cost) and drive innovation and value contributions to the business bottom line.
  • Ensure a strong connect across the Supply Chain organization, the Global Supply Chain Centres of Excellence, and the wider global organization to ensure bi-directional sharing and leverage of best warehousing practices.
  • Lead, support and personally develop a high performing team of empowered contracted warehousing professionals aligned to business goals and focused on commercial results. Enable people to succeed by removing barriers to performance, addressing underperformance, and rewarding success.
  • Actively participate in the Supply Chain Management System (i.e. – Daily Production Reviews, ME work planning, IAP Meetings, Accountability Reviews).
  • Responsible for resolution of issues involved in material movement causing inefficient or costly operations.
  • Actively participates in Business Performance Reviews of all contracts associated with the handling and movement of materials.
  • Contract Holder for Tactical Contracts involved in Materials Management (i.e – Warehouse Service Provider, 3rd Party Storage, etc)
  • Routinely visits the field to build and maintain critical relationships and observe Supply Chain activities and throughout the Supply Chain. The Field can include the Asset, vendor locations or offsite storage facilities.
  • Assisting analysis of new operating procedures using simulation / optimization software package. This can include capacity planning, demand planning, movement configuration, etc.
  • Create and maintain an environment of inclusion that respects and values individual differences and is aligned with LNG Canada core values
  • Demonstrates safe work practices, takes part in safety meetings as required, and advises relevant personnel of any non-conforming conditions.
  • Potential backfill for Materials Lead and capable of backfilling Supply Chain Delivery Manager as required.
Skills and Requirements:
  • Capable of learning a variety of supply chain, planning and scheduling software including SAP Blueprint, Supply Chain Visibility and Other Supply Chain software
  • Experience in Oil and Gas Operations is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong Communications and Networking Skills
  • Willing to work in a process driven organization inclusive of problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with contract management and past delivery through suppliers
