Hiring a high quality Personal Support Aide for a 19 year old Neurodivergent male.Individual is very social and easy going. Loves activities such as golf, bowling, rock climbing, chess, yoga, and working out. Also very interested in attending any sport related games such as hockey or baseball.Qualifications:-High school diploma/GED-Must be 19 years of age (as per Provincial licensing Standards)-Completion of a negative Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector search-First Aid or willing to obtain-Reliable form of transportation to and from work and transporting individual to activities outside of the home.-Provide 3 references, all must be professional in nature-Experience and knowledge working with individuals with development disabilities and mental health behaviours and concerns-Experience and understanding of behaviour management principles and strategies including mental health needs-Fluent in English, very good communication skills-Candidates are required to be patient, self-motivated, extremely reliable, enthusiastic. Caring and compassionate is a must. Energetic and active with a positive mindset and healthy lifestyle.Responsibilities:-Assist with daily living activities and healthy lifestyle activities in and out of the home-Facilitate continuing education, basic math and reading, fairly minimal amount to keep refreshed-Type 1 Diabetes management, will receive training-Facilitate community based activities such as golf, bowling, rock climbing, hiking-Facilitate job placement program and possible college life skills program.Additional Information-Monday-Friday typically from 10am-4pm but may vary depending on activity for the day.-Flexible-This is a Private Contract position with Very competitive rates above average.
