Reporting to the Assistant Director of Foodamp; Beverage, this position will be responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of The Bean, which is one of the busiest outlets in our hotel; serving our 600+ colleagues breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. This position is ideal for the individual who aspires to reach the next level in their career as a department head of a highly impactful operation with multiple stakeholders and high visibility in the hotel. Let #39;s take your career to new heights!What you will be doing:- Develop and enhance Fairmont service standards through disciplined administration of departmental Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines.- Enhance the leadership skills of the additional leaders in the Outlet. This includes the development of decision-making skills, performance management techniques, function planning ability, process mapping and analysis, and sense of urgency and ownership.- Ensure effective working relationships and clear communication is maintained with all colleagues and leaders within the department and other departments.- Champion the overall offering and commitment to excellence of The Bean and work with key stakeholders including the General Manager, Director of Operations, Director of Food and Beverage, Lifestyles Manager, Executive Chef, and Director of Talent and Culture to deliver on providing an exceptional experience to our most valued guests: our colleagues.- Develop and administer the departmental Employee Engagement Survey Action Plan.- Critically assess procedures, policies, and methods of operation and alter them where necessary.- Ensure the that the operation is financially responsible by managing costs, purchases, and productivity.-- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure that a common vision is shared and delivered.- Liaise with other Food and Beverage departments to ensure that all resources are being equally shared and that the entire division operates as a unified force.- Ensure that all equipment, fixtures, and furniture of the department are kept in the best repair possible and are used in a safe and proper manner.- Participate in the budgeting process of the department by establishing clear and precise priorities for operational and renovation capital expenditures.- Develop and maintain a safety culture within the department and ensure departmental adherence to and awareness of Health and Safety standards are met.- Ensure departmental participation in all hotel-wide environmental initiatives, and to develop departmental specific environmental initiatives.- Achieve or exceed all targeted objectives as it relates to our pillars (VOS, EOS, etc.).- Ensure the successful seasonal transition of the restaurant by creating and executing plans with other departments and leaders.- Attend communication meetings, Town Halls, Leadership Meetings, and others as applicable and ensure that the daily and long term vision of the hotel is reflected in the operation of The Bean.- Communicate with the hotel at large about menus and offerings.- Departmental payroll administration.- Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and be a champion of Health and Safety in Food and Beverage and the hotel.- Be a champion and a committee member for sustainability and ensure that the values are put into practice with collaboration with culinary and stewarding.- Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives.- Carry out any other tasks as assigned.QualificationsYour experience and skills include:- 1+ years at an Assistant Manager level of experience required.- Must have strong, proven leadership qualities and management skills.- Working knowledge of Dayforce, Microsoft applications and Opentable an asset.- Post-Secondary Degree in Hospitality or Food and Beverage Management an asset.- A demonstrated ability to delegate tasks to team members and follow up on same - ensuring results.- Completion of Global Leadership Program, Train the Trainer, and Interaction Management an asset.- Self-motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions, communicate, solve problems, and collaborate with key stakeholders is essential.- Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.- Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure.- Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly, move furniture, bend, stand and walk for long periods.- Ability to consistently stand and walk through out shift.Additional InformationVisa Requirements: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.Our Commitment to Diversityamp; Inclusion: We are an inclusive company and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.APPLY TODAY: We encourage you to visit our website to learn more about living and working in Lake Louise! www.lakelouisejobs.comWhy work for Accor We are far more than a worldwide leader.
