This position is the most fun you’ll ever have while working for a Ski Resort! Seeking an energetic & passionate skier/snowboarder to be responsible for the planning and implementing of all Lake Louise Events for our guests including but not limited to the job responsibilities listed below.Job Responsibilities:
  • Advertise, promote, organize, and execute all Lake Louise public facing events. This includes events produced by the Resort and with 3rd party event planners, activations and demos hosted at the Resort.
  • Ensure all events are being added and updated to all online event calendars (LLSR, BLLT, SB3, Travel Alberta etc.).
  • Attend event related meetings and record/distribute minutes for attendees.
  • Book all vendors related to the events which includes entertainment bookings, judges, security, etc.
  • Inter-departmental liaison for the communication of event requirements, responsible for the various organizational requirements surrounding each event from initial planning stages, to execution of event, to wrap up reports. Required to work closely with other departments to ensure that operational components are met in a timely fashion.
  • Manage event supplies and keep an inventory of all equipment, signs, and prizing.
  • Ensure event admin duties & paperwork are completed, such as managing registrations, start lists, purchase orders, comp forms, payment requests, function sheets, & wrap up reports in a timely fashion.
  • Schedule and work with the event volunteer team who is hired each season. Ensure they complete their 10-day requirement in exchange for a Season Pass.
  • Organize all in-resort advertising: maintaining informational bulletin boards, upcoming events and other daily information, Table-talkers for upcoming events, departmental information, TV ads, etc.
  • Work with Events & Communications Manager to confirm event sponsorship requirements and details prior to the winter season. Work with sponsors to carry out the deliverables on both sides.
  • Create an event calendar (both summer & winter) that is aligned with the Events & Communications Manager’s vision & strategic goals for the Resort.
  • Liaise with Content Specialist to ensure events presence on social media.
  • Liaise with Website Manager to ensure events presence in weekly eblasts & website news articles.
  • Oversee planning & participation in off-site community events.
  • Prepare final event budgets and proposed budgets for upcoming seasons, to be overseen by Events & Communications Manager.
  • Coordinate schedule for our volunteer mascot Griff the Grizzly. Ensure costume is stored and cleaned properly.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Events & Communications Manager.
  • Other resort tasks during our busy times (assisting Guest Services or Food & Beverage.)
  • Other tasks within the Marketing Department (acting as talent for photo shoots, hosting FAMs, etc.)
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to listen, ask questions, and address problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be organized, responsible and flexible to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work in a team setting as well as independently.
  • Must be friendly, approachable and enjoy meeting new people.
  • Excellent computer skills i.e. working experience on Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Google Sheets or variations also acceptable.
  • Knowledgeable about the ski resort and other local businesses, with some awareness of other activities, environmental issues, and events within the Bow Valley.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience planning events of various sizes.
  • Marketing and/or Event Planning Certificates or Education.
  • Must be an intermediate to advanced skier/snowboarder.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license & vehicle to get to and from the resort at early or late hours of the day.
Work Schedule:5/2 work schedule during the months of October – May.4/3 work schedule May - October.Must be able to work on weekends, holidays and adjust to a changing schedule and long hours, depending on the events.Quick Apply
