JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and co-ordination the day to day operations of the Maintenance Department with a primary focus on General Facility Maintenance, Grounds & as required special projects.RESPONSIBILITIES· Coordinate the day to day operation of the maintenance department· Provide general equipment related knowledge, expertise, and technical guidance on Preventative Maintenance including but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, troubleshooting & repair· Coordination of inventory, purchasing, & disbursement of supplies; Maintain inventory of equipment; manuals & warranties;· Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the hotels business goals and objectives. Available for off hour emergencies.· Tending to the furnace and boiler, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need.· Perform regular property inspections of the hotel, including common areas, hotel rooms, building exterior, and landscape.· Ensure effective management of loss prevention, risk management, security, maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, ventilation, heating, cooling and other daily activities, for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalks and parking lots. Additionally, the Maintenance Manager shall ensure that the grounds are maintained appropriately.· The Maintenance Manager must be knowledgeable about OHSA, including PPE, WHMIS, pool/spa operations, and be responsible for the training and orientation of new workers.· Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds, etc.· Conduct performance appraisal/review for all members of the department.· Bi weekly Payroll and purchasing duties as required.· Supervise maintenance staff· Any other duties assignedQUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 3 years Maintenance Management level experience within the Hospitality Industry.
  • Minimum 8 years of building and facilities maintenance related work experience. Ideally within a 200+ room hotel environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Able to interpret and implement applicable laws and regulations.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Related Certifications, Tickets, Diplomas an asset.
