This highly capable individual will effectively assist in leading the Resort Activities team made up of all Resort Activities including Boathouse operations, the Mountain Adventure Program, Children’s Camp, the Health Club, Fairmont Fitness & Wellness, BH Store and Winter Ski Rental, in achieving a seamless guest experience by maintaining company service standards and achieving the hotel’s mission, vision and values. This individual will also be involved in all seasonal Holiday programming as well as special events at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.What is in it for you:Experience living in Banff National Park in the iconic location of Lake LouiseSubsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time statusAccess to our Lifestyle Program activitiesOne duty meal in our newly renovated staff cafeteriaCompetitive extended benefits package including medical, vision and dental for full time permanent statusEmployee Travel ProgramComprehensive Wellness Platform (LifeWorks)Discounts on food & beverage/fitness centre/spa/golfOpportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and over 5,000 properties with AccorWhat you will be doing:Responsible for a team of leaders, fitness and yoga instructors and resort activity attendantsAssist in financial functions of the department with respect to department budget, operational budget and payroll.Update payroll system and prepare payroll.Support with all office work such as reviews, ordering, planning.Manage the day to day operations of the Boathouse, fitness classes, Children’s Camp and the Health Club.Assist in planning and running convention activities and children’s parties for large VIP groups.Be a representative on special committees i.e., Health and Safety, Sustainability, Lifestyles.Work cross functionally with the Sales & Marketing and Conference Services departments in an effort to promote Resort Activities programming including in-resort marketing, social media involvement and group related initiatives.Manage colleague scheduling, team efficiency and safety awareness training.Manage training, development and performance management within the department.Work scheduled shifts when staffing levels so dictate.Create new offerings and innovate all current offerings to match trends within fitness and well-being.Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives.Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives.Carry out any other tasks as assigned.Your experience and skills include:University/College degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Management or other related fieldCPR and First Aid certificateProven leadership abilitiesProven excellent guest service skillsMinimum 2 years’ previous experience in related fieldPrevious knowledgeable about the hotel, surrounding area, and National Parks an assetSelf‑motivated, with the ability to make effective decisionsDemonstrates initiative, and the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain high service levels under pressureAbility to consistently stand and walk through out shiftYou may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts.
