Job Description

The Chateau Lake Louise is seeking a dynamic Restaurant Manager, who will be responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of one of our fine dining outlets (Walliser Stube Restaurant) This position is ideal for the entrepreneurial restaurateur who is looking to join our hotels F&B operation and lead our restaurants into becoming the dining destination of choice. Let’s take your career to new heights.What is in it for you:Experience living in Banff National Park in the iconic location of Lake LouiseSubsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time statusAccess to our Lifestyle Program activitiesOne duty meal in our newly renovated staff cafeteriaCompetitive extended benefits package including medical, vision and dental for full time permanent statusEmployee Travel ProgramComprehensive Wellness Platform (LifeWorks)Discounts on food & beverage/fitness centre/spa/golfOpportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and over 5,000 properties with AccorWhat you will be doing:Develop and enhance Fairmont service standards through disciplined administration of departmental Standard Operating Procedures and excellent attention to detailDevelopment of leader’s to include: decision-making skills, performance management techniques, function planning, process mapping and analysis, and sense of urgency and ownershipEnsure effective working relationships and clear communication are maintained with all colleagues and leaders in the restaurant and other departments.Develop and administer the departmental guest’s satisfactions and have proven results to grow scoresAssess procedures, policies, and methods of operation and alter them where necessaryEnsure the financial success of the department by monitoring productivity, revenues and costsLiaise with the kitchen to ensure that a common vision is sharedCreate and implement all wine menus within the department as well as work closely with the kitchen on the creation of all food menusLiaise with other Food and Beverage departments to ensure that all resources are being equally shared and that the entire division operates as a unified forceEnsure that all equipment, fixtures, and furniture of the department are kept in the best repair possible and are used in a safe and proper mannerDevelop and maintain a safety culture within the department and ensure departmental adherence to and awareness of Health and Safety standardsAchieve or exceed all targeted objectives as it relates to our pillars (Colleagues, Guests, Owner, and Brand)Ensure the successful seasonal transition of the restaurantAttend Leadership meetings, daily convention, pre-convention and other meetings as requiredAdminister departmental payrollExecute restaurant marketing and social media planningEnsure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiativesAdhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiativesCarry out any other tasks as assignedYour experience and skills include:Previous department head level experience required (minimum of 2 Years)Previous high volume restaurant operations experience requiredPrevious fine dining experience requiredPrevious experience handling and leading a wine program (maintaining master wine list)Working knowledge of Silverware, Microsoft applications, OpenTable!, an assetWorking knowledge of WSET 3 an assetPost-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Hospitality or Food and Beverage Management an assetHighly organized individual with the ability to multi-taskDemonstrated ability to delegate tasks to team members to ensure resultsDemonstrated a strong passion for both Food and BeverageMust have strong, proven leadership qualities and management skillsSelf‑motivated, with the ability to make effective decisionsAbility to maintain high service levels under pressurePhysically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shiftYou may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts.
