Job Description

Yellowhead Community Services Society is a not for profit, charitable society that operates social service programs and rural Transit systems in the communities of Clearwater, Ashcroft and Lillooet. YCS is looking for a Part-Time 20 hrs/week Transit Driver to join our team. Additional hours may be available on an as-needed bases. This position will be based out of Lillooet, BC.Key Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Drive transit vehicles to transport passengers on Health Connections routes to Kamloops and Special Transit Trip requests.
  • Provide route information to transit passengers and collection of fares.
  • Assist elderly passengers and persons with disabilities with loading/unloading, and securement of wheelchairs within established safety procedures.
  • Maintain records and makes reports as required.
  • Inspect vehicles and performs pre-operation, during operation, and post-operation checks.
  • Complete daily routine cleaning as per checklist of interior and exterior of transit vehicles.
  • Additional hours may be offered based on program needs.
QualificationsMinimum grade 12 education is required. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience operating a commercial vehicle and/or providing passenger transportation services. Other requirements include a Clear Criminal Records Check, Acceptable Commercial Driver’s Abstract and a Class 1, 2 or Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License.A competitive wage and benefit package is available.
