We are looking for people ready to share, build, and grow with our company.Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Mine Development Supervisor will be expected to identify training requirements, develop his direct reports and participate to the department CI initiatives. Lead a team of equipment operators (drills, dozers and ancillary excavators) and labourers (~10-15 people) so that they can safely and efficiently achieve their tasks. Execute the D&B and ancillary activities in the Daily Plan.Main Accountabilities:

• Ensuring work procedures are followed and safety standards are adhered to.
• Conduct workplace inspections.
• Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Supervising employees, identifying training gaps and developing people
• Manage social problems as they occur.
• Mentor and provide performance feedback to team members. Coach and counsel employees on behavior standards, and take corrective actions as required including discipline.
• Ensuring drilled meters meet the plan targets.
• Monitoring the blasting contractors so that blasted tonnes targets are achieved.
• Maximizing equipment utilization and productivity.
• Maintaining pit floor & dumping faces and preparing drill and blast patterns as per the company standards.
• Provide input and work collaboratively with peers and other departments to achieve safety and production targets.

Main Qualifications:

• From 3-5 years experience supervising personnel in a mining production environment
• From 5-7 years General open pit mining experience
• Basic computer literacy required
• Shift Boss Ticket required
• Advanced understanding of mobile equipment operations and capabilities required
• Work in extreme low temperatures down to minus 40 Celsius
• Physically able to use all standard hand tools and lifting up to 25 kg
• Constant operation of vehicle and regular work outside to visit work areas
• Ability to work 13+ hours long shifts for a two-week period on days and nights
• Ability to work under pressure is essential.
• Experience operating mining equipment (particularly drills, dozers, excavators) will be considered an asset.
• Experience in mine planning will be considered an asset.
• Experience in rolling out continuous improvement initiatives will be considered an asset.
