Job Description

Tata Steel Minerals Canada is currently seeking Fuel Coordinator to act as the point of contact with serval internal/external stakeholders. This incumbent will support the Essential Services team with cost control follow-up and in preparing formal reports for internal and external parties involved in the Fuel Services on site.The DSO project is a fly-in/fly-out mining operation in the Menihek region in Labrador, near the town of Schefferville, QC. The successful candidate will be required to commute via aircraft from on of our pickup points in St. John’s, Gander, Deer Lake or Wabush.Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor cost activities and ensure timely, accurate cost information.
  • Daily entry of all fuel and associated costs.
  • Organize, mange and control the different activities concerning the receiving and distribution of fuel.
  • Capture fuel distribution data in the Fuel Tracker application
  • Manage the RFID system and ensure all diesel equipment is properly recorded and tracked.
  • Maintain a log of invoices, incurred cost and change management.
  • Validate invoices against timesheets, material receipts, delivery notes and identify discrepancies.
  • Reconciliation of costs and consumption data on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Invoice processing in SAP
  • Monitor vendor cost and schedule performance against contract to identify actual and potential discrepancies to the Project Manager.
  • Mange on site contractor for fuel delivery to ensure satisfactory service.
  • Reviews purchase order receiving documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading for accuracy and completeness
  • Performs count and inspection of arriving material. Ensures receipt documentation is retained and recorded in Material Management System with permanent Material Receiving Report (MRR);
  • Ensures that material is stored in accordance with the project storage plan and that the location of material in storage is properly reflected on the appropriate storage records (manually or automated);
  • Coordinates with responsible groups to ensure that materials are provided in a timely manner and in sufficient quantity to support the completion of construction work;
  • Performs complete or partial inventories as required to validate inventory records.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
Required Experience
  • Post secondary degree/diploma would be an asset.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse setting and logistics an asset.
  • Planning, scheduling, and operations coordination experience.
  • Computer literacy in cost control management and project scheduling with advanced skills in Excel and SAP.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction materials, tools, equipment, and parts
  • Working knowledge of material storage and handling equipment
  • Experience in work packaging materials for construction planning.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in collaboration with others.
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to work on site on a Fly-in/Fly-out schedule.
