Tata Steel, part of the Tata Group of Companies, is one of the world’s top 10 steel producers and a fortune 500 company.The opportunityTata Steel Minerals Canada is currently seeking a Control Room Operator to join the Processing Department team to work on a Fly-in/Fly-out basis of 2 weeks On/Off to and from the Menihek region in Labrador, near the town of Schefferville, QC. Operations at our mine site are running 24/7 all year long. Standard work schedules are of 12 hours per day.The main pick-up points are St. John’s, Gander, Deer Lake, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Wabush in NL, Halifax, NS, Moncton, NB, and Montreal, QC.Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Control Room Operator works closely with the plants operators ensuring the day-to-day operation of the ore processing equipment. To be successful in this role you must possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Previous experience working within a refinery, chemical processing or similar heavy industry work environment would be considered highly advantageous. Your strong communication skills, team orientation and commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement is imperative as is the ability to work unsupervised in an effective manner.Key Responsibilities
