Want to join the movementRESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONSRole overviewWe are looking for an Accounting Assistant, who is eager to contribute to and learn from our amazing team. This individual will be responsible for various month end accounting requirements and ongoing support for accounting receivable and WIP. You will bring a solid accounting background to our firm ideally with previous experience in a professional services environment. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, this is a full-time position with potential growth opportunities. Your positive, friendly and mature disposition will be key to our team.We have laid out some of the performance expectations below but, to be honest, sky is the limit – if you find a way to make the firm better – just do it!Performance Expectations

  • Responsible for general accounting duties including invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, monthly journal entries, reconciliations and reporting
  • Ensure timely collection of all receivables including follow up with clients
  • Monitor WIP and staff time entry
  • Quarterly HST reporting and filing
  • Assist with client setups and updates
  • Administrative duties as required to support the team
Credentials
  • College diploma or university degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and ability to apply these in daily work activities
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and utmost attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable in a mixed duties role (accounting and administration)
  • Prior experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and data imports
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to liaise with external parties including clients and suppliers
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, strong initiative and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills with a very strong command of the English language (written & spoken)
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary and flexibility to work with changing priorities
