We are currently seeking one (1) Information Technology Co-op Student to join our team. IT Student will provide operational and technical support to users of the Societys office automation system including hardware maintenance and minor repair, software installations, user training and support for software, personal computers and computer peripherals and local/wide area network administration and operations. It also provides technical support to internal customers via telephone, e-mail, in person, and through a web based ticketing solution.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:System Support1. Ensures that the Societys inventory of laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripheral equipment is maintained2. Maintain, administer, and upgrade the agencys workstation based hardware and software systems.3. Deploy Windows images for desktops and laptops leveraging hardware and software deployment tools.4. Provide first level support for technologies implemented at the agency. This includes solutions like Phone System, Office 365, Domain, SharePoint, Collaborating tools, Desktop Computing Security, Print Management, Data Projectors, Remote Access, Network Access and other Peel CAS enterprise solutions.5. Maintain and administer the helpdesk ticketing system. Create and update technical and system documentation. Escalate system problems to Tier 2/3 support as required.6. Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses.7. Assist IT team with large scale department projects as required. Prioritize activities and work effectively independently.8. Collaborate and research with IT staff to determine hardware and software requirements and recommend new and emerging technologies.OtherAwareness of WHMIS, following appropriate health and safety practices in the workplace. Attend meetings and training as required. Other duties as assigned by Manager.QUALIFICATIONS:1. Currently enrolled in a computer technology program. Related computer industry certifications preferred2. Demonstrated knowledge of IT hardware and software troubleshooting3. Demonstrated working knowledge of desktop hardware and software4. Advanced Working Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite5. Fundamental understanding of local area networking and Phone/Communication systems.6. Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot mobile devices7. Advanced Communication Skills, both written and verbal8. Advanced Customer Service Skills9. Advanced People Skills10.
