  • Own, manage and monitor the development and implementation of a robust program IMAX’s privacy policies and practices
  • Manage Information Security governance programs
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders in most IMAX business units
  • Serve as in-house liaison with our external privacy software providers
  • Action and log data subject access requests
  • Ensure compliance with internal information security and privacy policies and drive the implementation of controls supporting new data protection and privacy laws and regulations
  • Evaluate internal policies and procedures regarding privacy/personal data, conduct risk assessments, and recommend improvements
  • Scale our privacy compliance and governance framework globally
  • Help to drive continuous improvement with IMAX’s privacy and governance practices over time, working closely with IMAX’s Technology, Legal, Strategy & Innovation, and Marketing teams
  • Create and conduct periodic privacy trainings across the company on a regular basis
What we’re looking for:
  • 2+ years of privacy compliance, risk management and governance experience
  • Certification/s in data protection is a plus (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM)
  • Certification in information security governance is a benefit
  • Experience working on domestic and global privacy and data security issues, including the GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, Section 5 of the FTC Act relating to privacy, anti-spam laws, cookies regulation, and CCPA / CPRA
  • Knowledge of applicable privacy and data security laws and regulations in Canada, the S. (federal/state) and abroad, including a good understanding of the latest developments thereto
  • Strong understanding of information security controls (ISO27001)
  • Experience preparing reports and presentations for executive audiences
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and influence others without direct authority
  • Highly motivated and resourceful with the ability to work proactively and independently
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the company on complex, multifaceted issues
  • Detail-oriented, business-friendly, and a team player, with an ability to think creatively and accommodate tight deadlines and business objectives
  • Passionate about privacy and a gatekeeper of our privacy principles
  • Strong work ethic and able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a “can-do” attitude
