  • Responsible for the efficient control and management of all plant and equipment – e.g. chillers, boilers, generators, fire, water treatment, centrifugal pumps and various air-handling systems
  • Ensure regular operational checks and maintain the Operational Log.
  • Carry out planned and demand maintenance on all plant & equipment and update CMMS.
  • The role includes responsibility for Emergency Response - e.g. Fire, Flood, System Failure etc.
  • Compliance with all Corporate OH&S Policies, Procedures and Programs.
  • Work within a rotation shift schedule and be available on call to attend to emergencies.
  • Key Qualifications:
    • Post-Secondary Technical Education.
    • Completion of Building Environmental Systems course I and II required.
    • Certificate of Qualification as issued by the Ontario Department of Labour, Stationary Engineering Certificate or Refrigeration B Certificate will be an asset.
    • A minimum of three years’ experience in Plant Operations, preferably in an institutional environment.
    • Mechanical / electrical aptitude, trouble shooting skills and experience with HVAC and Coil Tube Boilers.
    • Proficient in the use of computers as it relates to the job
    • Ability to use a Building Automation System program preferably Johnson Controls Metasys and Honeywell EBI
    • Exceptional communication, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
    • Ability to read blue print drawings.
    • Work on a daily basis as part of a team on a three shift , 24/7 rotation
    • Must complete the required training program
    • Positive attendance and work record essential
