Job Description

A Day in the LifeThe Business Development Specialist is accountable for the prospecting, onboarding, development and nurturing of Vessel’s high impact customers. They are responsible for overseeing customer supply and ordering requirements as well as planning for their accounts’ future growth opportunities. This involves a mix of customer meetings, sales trips and ongoing management of customer orders and data on a day to day basis.The Business Development Specialist is an expert in all aspects of the can supply and production process. They use their knowledge to support customers in achieving their business objectives while strategically prospecting to ensure high growth, high profit customers are prioritized.Responsibilities & Duties

  • Strategically prospect for new business to build a strong pipeline of business prospects
  • Develop opportunities within prospective customer base as dictated by growth strategy
  • Ensure all prospective customers are up to date with key information, forecasts, and supply details
  • Ensure financially strong growth within your territory as defined by monthly, Quarterly and annual goals
  • With the support of the Supply Chain Team and National Sales Manager, prepare and maintain annual and rolling forecasts to effectively manage supply
  • Work closely with key contacts at Crown and other suppliers to maintain strong communication, eliminate ambiguity and advocate for customers
  • Guide prospective customers to the most effective solution for their business while ensuring strategic growth for Vessel based on the financial and operational needs of the business
  • Network effectively within the various business channels Vessel services
  • Effectively manage your prospective customer base using Salesforce CRM tool
  • Represent Vessel professionally and strategically at industry trade shows and events
  • Ensure all activities are aligned to Vessel’s financial targets as communicated by Director of Sales/National Sales Manager
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in food and beverage
  • Customer focused with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enjoys collaborating with team members as well as working independently
  • Comfortable with travelling and working long, irregular hours
  • Confident in Microsoft Office and G-Suite
  • Valid Class 5 or G Class driver’s license
