Shop our selection of cute baby & kids clothing.Essential Job FunctionsReporting directly to the Senior Director, Buying, the incumbent in this position will be responsible for the following:

• Maximizes sales and margin dollars
• Plans basic and seasonal product assortment by leverage a “lift & land” business model as a Canadian subsidiary of the Carters/ OshKosh Brand
• Support sales and inventory targets through selecting & quantifying best product assortment for Canada, achieving key metrics and supporting all corporate initiatives
• Partners with Planning on building seasonal and annual plans by business unit/category/sub dept. Effectively manages in-season sales and inventory, monthly OTB, monthly allocation reviews & managing Markdown
• Marketing/Visual Merchandising- Collaborates with both internal teams to develop seasonal marketing/event plans; including email and catazine content
• Completes buys to capitalize on merchandise fixture plans
• Collaborates with internal, cross functional teams and USA counterparts
• Effective time management, collaboration & output supporting a Hybrid office model
• Supports retail stores on product information and presentation guidelines
• Tests/ analyzes and reports on new product concepts
• Conducts competitive shops on a monthly basis to review competitor pricing and key item strategies
• Ongoing collaboration with OMNI channel partners (ie Ecommerce)

Supervisory / Budgetary / External Communication Responsibility

• Provide strong leadership to motivate, develop staff and sustain an effective team

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of retail math and analytics, merchandising principles and similar product knowledge required
• Oral and Written Communication, Critical Thinking, Time Management, Detail Oriented, Analytical Comprehension, Excel and Microsoft Office
• Highly analytical, collaborative and process driven
• Ability to operate in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with a strong ability to multi-task and make decisions

Prior Work Experience and Educational Requirements

• College Certificate in Fashion Studies, business or marketing degree or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years direct buying experience and fashion merchandising
