If you are passionate about what you do, motivated to improve the health of the community, committed to excellence, quality and patient safety we would like you to join our Better Together team!Overview:The Compensation Consultant will contribute their knowledge and expertise in a variety of ways to support non-union and union compensation programs at THP. They will provide compensation support to the Total Rewards department, employees, management and/or other HR partners.Accountabilities:

  • Advising on compensation practices and legislation to HR, leadership, employees and Payroll.
  • Support the annual cyclical compensation programs including calculation files, best practices for audit, communication and executive summaries.
  • Support the market benchmarking process by participating in surveys, analysing results, identifying issues and preparing reports for leadership.
  • Providing compensation program support to client portfolios including unions.
  • Assists in the analysis and review of current compensation programs and processes, the development of new programs by researching market trends, analyzing competitive compensation survey data, conducting plan modeling, and making recommendations for program changes.
  • Participate in job evaluations, including recommending the appropriate job level for non-union, management, and union jobs, maintaining job codes in the system, and ensuring documentation is maintained for all decisions.
  • Applies pay equity knowledge and participates in reviews to ensure that THP continues to maintain pay equity for all employee groups.
  • Regularly review and update compensation and benefits documentation to ensure information is clear, concise, and up to date.
  • Continuous focus on process improvement, auditing, streamlining of administration and policy development as well as keeping abreast of all relevant legislative changes.
  • Occasionally support on other areas of Total Rewards.
Here’s what you need to have:
  • Bachelor Degree in a related discipline and a certificate in Human Resources Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in delivering compensation programs and supporting policies that address all levels of employees (staff to executive leadership).
  • Strong skills in job analysis, job evaluation and market analysis.
  • Effective written and oral communications (including presentation skills).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills using both qualitative and quantitative data. Experience with relevant analytical tools, strong focus on spreadsheet applications, statistics and regression analysis.
  • Demonstrated competence in project management, analytical skills and decision-making tools.

While this role is typically located at our Credit Valley Hospital site, it is currently being conducted remotely. Travel to all THP sites may be required at different times.
