Our Client is looking for a Customs Manager who will be responsible for the overall performance of the Customs, Brokerage product at station level while maintaining the highest level of industry standards and profitability for our clients Implementation of all CHB programs and procedures for all import departments. Ensure Key Performance Indicators are met and maintained at the highest level.Responsibilities· Ensure compliance with all government departments is maintained· Ensure and maintain a high quality Customer service to meet customer expectations· Eliminate late accounting penalties that are non-chargeable to the customers· Recommend solutions to other departments for client complaints received relating to the customs product· Communicate as required with applicable parties to ensure service requirements are achieved· Establish a customer service standard for the team and develop monitoring of service standard· Maintain an open door philosophy for good communication with employees· Hold weekly Performance Dialogues with the team· Arrange to process, issue distribute and/or dispatch all required documentation to all applicable parties in a time frame consistent with service needs and company policy· Arrange or complete preparation of necessary documents to complete customs clearance process· Complete and communicate entry adjustment requests to staff for completing refund/drawback claims for our customers· Responsible to distribute workload within the department to enhance efficiency & productivity· Organize the training of new & existing staff· Handling of internal & external disputes· Ensure staff complete all mandatory courses· Ensure timely completion of entries within departments as per company guidelines· Advise staff of changes to company policies & goals· Monitor & take necessary corrective action on staff performance· Participate in hiring & termination of department staff· Preparation of yearly performance evaluations of department staff· Provide leadership & guidance to department staff· Other duties as required by the Customs DirectorRequirements· Minimum of 7 years in a supervisory position· Attainment of qualified person status of C.S.C.B.· Proficient decision making & leadership skills· Proficient verbal, written & organizational skills.· A post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the Customs Industry· Able to work effectively under time sensitive environment· Diligent attention to detail· Professional & courteous phone manner· Ability to solve logistical problems as necessary· Completion of C.I.F.F.A., IATA, and dangerous goods courses an asset· Customs License holder an asset· Proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:
