Job Description

Join us on our accelerated journey in creating the airport of the future in a smart, healthy and profitable way.Reporting to the Manager, Digital Experience, this role will be responsible for the creation or editing of digital content on Toronto Pearson’s multiple digital properties, including all internal and external GTAA web environments (intranet, extranet and internet) as well as social media channels and other tools both currently in use and those implemented in the future. The incumbent will be responsible for day-to-day publishing activities on all digital channels, and will support the execution of digital campaigns. This role is also responsible for ensuring that all content reflects the Toronto Pearson brand, voice and tone, is search engine optimized and meets web accessibility standards.Create and edit content for all GTAA-managed digital channelsExecute the overall digital strategy for Toronto Pearson, including brand, voice and toneDevelop and execute digital campaigns as requestedAssist with the development and maintenance of a digital editorial calendar, including internal and external campaignsAssist with the development and maintenance of a social media calendar, including internal and external campaignsAssist with building, sending and reporting on email marketing campaignsAssist with creating and analyzing digital, social, and web analytics and metrics reportsIncrease user engagement across all channelsExplore new digital features and enhancementsThis unionized position is classified at the Band 5 level, with an hourly wage range of $34.82 to $38.34, based on a 37.5 hour work week. The successful candidate must be available to commence the duties of the position once a selection decision has been made. A test may be administered as a part of the competitive process. An eligibility list may be created.Candidates with relevant external experience must provide references with their applications in order to confirm this experience.QualificationsMust have minimum a post-secondary diploma in Digital, Communications, Journalism, EnglishMinimum of two (2) years’ of similar work experience – agency or corporate environment – with a specific focus on digital content creationMinimum of two (2) years’ experience in content creation for the web and demonstrated experience in the use of Social Media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram to promote business objectivesRelated industry experience in the fields of aviation or airport management would be considered an assetExperience with digital accessibility compliance is considered a strong assetBilingual (French) work experience is considered a strong assetMust be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security ClearanceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThe successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of digital trends and be familiar with website content managementThe incumbent must have experience in working with web analytics (preferably Google Analytics) and web strategies as well as familiarity with Search Engine Optimization and web accessibilityKnowledge of and the ability to code HTML5 and CSS3, and javascript/jquery is considered a strong assetHe/she must have knowledge and the ability to use relevant software (Content Management Systems, Adobe Creative products, analytics software, digital publishing software)A solid understanding of web issues surrounding user experience, accessibility and information architecture is considered a strong assetBilingual (French) work experience is considered a strong assetThe incumbent must have excellent editing and writing skills and will be meticulous about accuracy and grammar with a sound understanding of writing for the web and engaging various online audiencesMust have strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and listening) and have excellent skills using MS OfficeFurther, he/she will be detail oriented, a team player accustomed to fast paced, and collaborative environments with tight deadlinesThe incumbent must have proven time management and prioritization skills with the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities
