Job Description

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Driver acts as an integral member of the team performing unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, adjustment, and minor construction work in the basic trades to ensure that facilities are properly maintained and meet Kids & Company standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and drive vans to pick up and deliver various products, such as cooler bags, thermos containers, and plastic bags of food
  • Lift and push cooler bags, thermo containers, & plastic bins of food from metal shelves onto cart
  • Load and unload cooler bags, thermo containers, cardboard boxes of food and plastic bins of food into the delivery area of the daycare
  • Drive van back to kitchen and unload empty cooler bags, thermo containers, and cardboard boxes of food and plastic bins
  • Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, and fuel costs
  • Inspect vehicle daily and report any incidents or problems encounter
  • Plan delivery travel schedule route and communicate any changes required
  • Wipe down and sanitize all delivery equipment and vehicle after every delivery
  • Adhere to Kids & Company safe driving policies
  • Maintain Kids & Company’s professional appearance at all time
  • Duties and responsibilities may vary based on the operational needs of the kitchen

  • 1 - 2 years of driving or work-related experience
  • High School diploma/GED equivalency required
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver abstract required
  • Food Handler Certification an asset
  • Selected candidate must have 2 pieces of valid government ID, and must be able to pass a background criminal check.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a daycare or childcare environment would be an asset
  • Excellent organization skills, detail oriented, and a strong team player
  • Must be punctual, reliable, with an excellent work ethic
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis
