Job Description

Job Description - Early Childhood AssistantSimplySmart Child Care Centre is growing and looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals that enjoy being in the classroom and want to make a difference for their Oakville - Iroquois location. The teacher should know how to develop the program for the toddler and pre-school classroom, have experience with documenting observations and be able to engage children. They should be up to date with the Child Care and Early Years Act and well informed of all the rules and regulations under the Act.Here is an outline of the qualifications required:

  • At least 2 years of Experience working in a day care environment.
  • Prepared and developed programs for children in different age groups.
  • Innovative and dynamic personality.
  • Ability to work independently in different environments and with different people.
  • Strong inter personal skills to deal with children, teachers and parents.
  • Ability to engage and teach little children and get down to their level every day.
  • CPR and first aid trained.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 to 4 years of experience in a childcare environment teaching in a classroom.
  • Standard First Aid CPR C+
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Immunization up to date (including a 2 step TB test)
  • Food handlers cerftificate (preferred)
The following qualifications are an asset
  • A diploma in early childhood education from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology.
  • Registration with the College of ECEs
