POSITION TITLE: Facilitator, Mobilize OntarioTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time, TemporaryREPORTING TO: Coordinator/ Mobilize Ontario programLOCATION: Mississauga Sussex CentreSTART DATE: August 1st, 2022ANNUAL SALARY: $59,750HOURS:(Some evenings & weekends may be required)Mondays to Fridays 8:30am to 4:30pmBENEFITS: NoSUMMARY: Mobilize Ontario program will work with employers and rural communities in Ontario, to develop a scalable model for labour mobility that will match employers (in regions facing chronic on-going labour shortages) with employees from areas in Ontario facing high unemployment, providing a concierge service that facilitates worker relocation, housing and transportation. By leveraging innovative technology, existing expertise, strategic collaborations and on-the-ground regional intelligence, this project supports the alignment of labour between regions, increasing economic participation of underrepresented groups such as women, indigenous peoples, and New Canadians to communities in need of their skills.The Outreach Liaison/Facilitator will coordinate all outreach activities and support the Coordinator with the daily operations of the project. The successful candidate will work with the Coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate outreach strategies and pre-employment workshop materials to achieve the targets of the project as per the Contribution Agreement. The Outreach Liaison/Facilitator will recruit newcomers, prepare them for employability and provide ongoing supports as needed.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES§ Provide appropriate resources and workshops and /or cultural sensitivity support training on inter-cultural awareness within the workplace to employers / management§ Pre-screen participants, assess needs and employability skills gaps.Provide tailored soft skills employability training and workplace cultural awareness for newcomer employees, with some individualized coaching sessions§ Provide on the job supports as needed, such as coaching and key employment/settlement related supports based on needs.§ Implement outreach plan to recruit newcomer clients§ Liaise with other programs & services for optimal delivery and reach§ Participate in community meetings and other networking events§ Refer clients to appropriate settlement, training or other programs as necessary§ Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays if required§ Contribute to team cohesiveness and team building§ Perform other related duties as required§QUALIFICATIONS§ Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a customer service capacity in community social services sector§ Demonstrated facilitation experience – with experience facilitating to newcomers from different backgrounds, age groups or CLB levels§ Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and leadership skills§ Good presentation, problem solving, organizational and project management skills§ Strong internet research skills§ Knowledge of immigrant and refugee issues§ Knowledge of settlement/employment programs & services offered by settlement/immigrant serving agencies, particularly in Southwestern Ontario§ Knowledge of labour market trends§ Knowledge of the manufacturing and construction sectors are a definite asset§ Fluency in Dari, Pashto, or Ukrainian would be an assetQuick Apply
