Topics will include the presentation of text, graphics, audio and video on the web. Design, web server concepts, human communication systems and organizational contexts will be considered in creating web sites using scripting languages and web software tools.PRA0102 Tuesdays 5pm-8pmEstimate PRA enrolment: 40Approximate size of appointment: 60 hoursEstimate number of positions available: 1-2Qualifications

  • Candidates must have formal education/experience specific to the subject area.
  • HTML/CSS is essential, professional working experience with front-end web interface development and design using current standards and techniques with JavaScript coding and frameworks are required.
  • Understanding of Accessibility standards, inclusive design, and responsive development.
  • Strong command of interface design software and applications including the Adobe CC.
  • Working/teaching knowledge of front-end deployments as related to Content Management Systems, and open frameworks.
  • Understanding of open development frameworks, prototyping and wireframing technologies.
  • Data driven system and application development an asset.
  • Familiarity with database servers, application server and web server technologies/implementations an asset.
Notes:Final availability of positions is contingent upon final course determinations, enrolment, budgetary considerations and final determination of assignments flowing from Article 14:01 of the Collective Agreement.The rate of pay for a sessional instructional assistant (SIA) is $46.92 per hour, plus vacation pay in accordance with the CUPE, Unit 3 collective agreement.
