Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedLocation: Mississauga, ONAs an Asphalt Raker, You Will:

  • Prepare road surfaces for the application of hot asphalt
  • Spread asphalt with a rake for construction, repair, and resurfacing operations
  • Shovel asphalt, hand sweeping and tack in front of paving crew
  • Finish asphalt surfaces by smoothing and tamping asphalt material to the proper grade and thickness
  • Repair utility cuts by removing temporary material and replace with permanent hot asphalt
  • Load, unload, and move construction materials around the worksite
  • Ensure worksite is organized and free of clutter and garbage
  • Comply with company’s health and safety procedures and regulations
  • Perform other duties involving manual labour
What Youll Bring:
  • Previous experience in road work and asphalt paving and/or general construction, an asset
  • Knowledge of paving process and equipment, an asset
  • Proficiency in working with hand tools
  • Access to a vehicle for commuting
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving manual labour
  • Able to promote a positive yet safe work environment
  • Willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Flexible to work days/nights/weekends and out of town when required
  • Travel may be required
  • Punctual, reliable, and a team player
