Duties include: collection of employee attendance records on a bi-weekly basis; filing and compiling of all payroll reports and data; issuing Records of Employment; maintaining payroll files related to employees, prepare/process reconciliations and withholding remittances and answering employee/management inquiries on payroll matters.

  • Responsible for the collection of all daily time and attendance entries from all departments on a bi-weekly basis. Ensuring all employees are being paid accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Process all transactions for staff and physicians to produce bi-weekly payroll and special payments as required.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance to meet payroll/government regulations and
  • Reconcile to the general ledger and remit group benefit payments on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare/process reconciliation’s and withholding remittance to Payroll vendors.
  • Answering all employee inquiries on payroll matters in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Processing all paperwork relating to employee file, employee leaves, terminations and retirements. This includes processing benefit payments on a monthly basis for leaves.
Educational Requirements:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting or payroll
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification and membership in CPA
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years payroll experience in a large organization
  • Experience with payroll year end process (T4/T4A) and annual pension reconciliation.
  • Experience with year-end processes and pension reconciliations.
  • Experience with in house payroll and time-keeping systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated skill with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, pension systems and Payroll Meditech experience preferred
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance are required
