Job Description

Job OverviewThe Procurement Delivery Manager brings analytical thinking, planning, execution, and focus to the procurement sourcing and delivery capability area. Applying both general procurement and specialized knowledge or expertise in a specific commodity or spend area, the role ensures effective and efficient delivery of core procurement services and continuous improvement of automation and content availability.The Procurement Delivery Manager collaborates closely with internal procurement (i.e. Chapters and capability areas such as customer relationship management, contracting, solutions, analytics, etc.) and business stakeholders to translate business needs into sourcing and spend management activities and content enhancement.The role works closely with other team members to support customer demand, improve the customer buying experience, deliver on day-to-day operational activities, and provide capacity and expertise to deliver productivity and other customer oriented projects/solutions.Core Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Procurement Delivery Manager will play a variety of roles according to their experience, knowledge, and general business requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Category and sourcing subject matter specialist conducting market and internal analysis to develop strategies and tactical plans for how Roche should source and negotiate for third party goods and services in order to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
  • Procurement delivery practitioner delivering and executing sourcing strategies by leveraging spend, category know-how, robust sourcing, negotiation, contracting, supplier management methodologies and frameworks and project management skills.
  • Content and automation developer translating sourcing outcomes and opportunities into content and automated buying channels that improve business adoption, satisfaction, and overall efficiency.
The Procurement Delivery Manager will work within the capability team, networks, and squads/project teams to determine the various roles the specialist can take on to support both project and foundational work.The role’s successful performance and contribution depend on the full embodiment and demonstration of core mindsets and behaviors, including an entrepreneurial spirit, enterprise thinking, inclusive collaboration, and desire for continuous learning that underpin our culture and ways of working.Mindsets & Behaviors

Who you are:
  • Someone who is passionate about Life Sciences and procurement
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or Life Science.
  • 2 + years procurement experience delivering measurable value in strategic sourcing, enterprise cost reduction, and / or operational efficiency projects.
  • 2+ years of project management experience including risk management, project reporting, and delivering quantitative and qualitative results in complex environments.
  • Strong Team Player
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Logistics, Supply Chain Category including but not limited to Transportation, Warehousing, Active and passive shipping systems, small parcel solutions and logistics related technological solutions, the different business models in the Life Science Industry when engaging with 3PL and 4PL organization and a very good understanding of the global logistics market. potential cost levers or market fundamentals.
  • Business level fluency in English, other languages are a great asset.
  • Demonstrate advanced industry knowledge, skills in cost analysis, modeling, purchase price cost analysis and identifying competitive benchmarks
  • Experience with advanced strategic procurement methodologies and sourcing approaches and techniques
  • Project management / Program management: Demonstrated ability in leading complex projects to successful and on time completion
  • Demonstrates solid business acumen with experience in multiple business sectors
  • Risk and financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret and utilize key financial data
  • Ability to operate and execute effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and challenging deadlines
  • Process-oriented with strong analytical skills and creative problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and persuasion skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and proactive approach that is results focused
  • Fluent English language written & spoken (second language desirable)
  • Thorough knowledge of the business, markets, regulations in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Thorough knowledge of transportation, warehousing and logistics market
  • Skilled in Strategy Development and all Procurement processes and disciplines including spend and category management
  • Command of the Strategic Sourcing Process
  • Ability to work across multiple sites, cultures and matrix/virtual teams
  • Knowledgeable in innovation techniques and process improvement
