Job Description

Company DescriptionCanam Group specializes in designing and fabricating metal components for the North American construction industry. The Company is active in the sectors of buildings and infrastructure. Canam Group operates 12 plants in Canada and the United States, as well as engineering offices in Canada, Romania, India and the Philippines, and has over 3,500 employees.Job DescriptionYour mandate will be to assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent with the management and supervision of a structural steel erection project within the Hambro/Murox buildings section. You will be based on site at one of our Ontario project sites. Your tasks will include :

  • Collect data on site and update the construction schedule (MS Project, Smartsheet)
  • Produce erection progress and site daily reports (PlanGrid, Trimble Connect)
  • Assist the Site Superintendent with quality control
  • Follow up on the delivery schedule and validate delivery slips
  • Participate in coordination meetings with the engineering, detailing and fabrication team
  • Attend on-site coordination meetings with the general contractor
  • Assist the steel erector in repair requests (field works and deficiencies)
  • Assist with health and safety recordings
QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in progress, ideally third year or higher
  • Basic technical knowledge in structure, steel structure and Autocad
  • Interest in teamwork
  • Autonomy and ability to manage priorities
  • Willingness to progress
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment per site regulations
