Job Description

As a Sales Analyst you will work in collaboration with the sales and merchant teams, to provide information for an assigned set of key retail partners to grow sales. The Sales Analyst is a strategic partner that contributes to the company’s financial goals by providing effective category management strategies and delivering actionable insights using point-of-sale data and category analysis.The Sales Analyst position will provide standard reporting and data analysis from several sources, including P.O.S, shipments, product footage and other internal data management/mining systems. You will analyze and interpret data using category management and statistical techniques to drive sales performance at retail. As a Sales Analyst you will have product, merchandising, and business process knowledge or the educational equivalent which enables you to work independently in supporting the business.As a Sales Analyst you will focus on preparing various sales and financial reports that will help your sales partners understand results by program, category, region, or other sub-sets of measurement. This role requires a balanced contribution of financial skills, analytical/problem-solving skills and knowledge of product hierarchies, account dimensions, retail goals and report writing skills.   • You will provide regular analysis of P.O.S. sales to identify opportunities for growth and improvement including ad hoc quantitative studies as required.
  • You will design and implement analyses to measure/test programs.
  • You love learning and take a keen interest in category trends and consumer insights.
  • Process improvements are part of your everyday work ethic and you love to evaluate and develop analysis. methodologies to track and recommend retailer opportunities through multiple data sources.
  • You understand the importance of measurement in order to drive retail success. You will track merchandising and promotional efforts and tests to determine if they were efficient and effective, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • You understand the importance of team communication and can communicate insights effectively, both verbally and in writing. You take pride in the accuracy of your reports knowing that they will be shared with retailers and management.
Category Management:
  • You understand the CPG industry and will develop a collaborative category management approach and go-to-market strategy.
  • You are comfortable in the role of a SME and will represent yourself as a holistic category consultant delivering actionable insights to your business partners.
  • You are incredibly organized and can utilize demographic, display, sales and financial information to identify exceptions/opportunities to drive the business.
  • You know how to package up your data points into a presentable presentation for internal and external partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in business or quantitative discipline.
  • You have 1-3 years category management experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry or buying function of a key retailer.
  • You thrive in a hybrid working model and appreciate the benefit that both in-office and remote work brings to your career development.
  • You are a strategic thinker with ability to build strategies with internal teams.
  • You have strong presentation skills, both written and oral and are comfortable delivering formal and effective presentations to all levels of the team.
  • You have superior MS Office software skills including expert knowledge of data base and spreadsheet software including Excel, Access, Cognos, SAS, R or SQL.
  • You have demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You have excellent organizational skills and multitasking is second nature for you.
  • You understand the importance of time management and can demonstrate your skills and tactics.
  • You have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and are comfortable working with all levels of the organization.
  • You are self-driven, engaged and motivated and are capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • You understand that in your role accuracy and attention to detail are a must.
