Get inspired, get involved, and ignite your future with IMAX!Required SkillsJOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities:The overall purpose of this job is to provide analysis and support for IMAX’s film operations through accounting and reporting for film development, production, and distribution activities. This position will also provide financial and operational analysis support for management decision making as well as reconciliations of various revenue and cost functions within the Film Finance Department.

  • Financial & operational analysis related to new and existing lines of film business.
  • Oversight over Documentary, DMR, Alternative Context, unbilled GBO reporting & collections activities.
  • Analyze all accounts under areas of responsibility to ensure that they are accurate and reasonable; reconcile & investigate discrepancies and correct where necessary.
  • Weekly/Monthly Film Flash reporting, including box office, revenue, cost of sales, accrued AR, collections, take rate, etc.
  • Preparation of Film Asset Continuity, including commentary on significant balances and asset impairments.
  • Coordinate with other departments (ie, AP/AR, IMAX DMR, Film Distribution, Marketing, Global Film Finance, Legal) within IMAX to obtain required and timely information relating to areas of responsibility.
  • Review Film legal contracts and ensure terms are accurately translated into SAP.
  • Assist with Studio & Sub-Distributor billings process through analysis of contract terms and revenue recognition proposal.
  • Responsible for Film intercompany reconciliations, including billings of Film Services Fees to IMAX China.
  • Contribute to month-end close cycle by delivering timely & accurate financial data.
  • Monitor current industry events with potential impacts to existing & new business initiatives.
  • Assist with internal & external audit requests.
  • Perform other duties and work on special projects as required.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • CPA designation or working towards with 3-5 years experience
  • Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills
  • ERP (i.e., SAP) experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Maintains ownership of responsibilities and takes initiative
  • Needs to be able to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
