Together we deliver exceptional experiences to our over 2 million daily customers.The Supervisor, Maintenance will report to the Manager, Maintenance at Square One Shopping Centre, and is responsible for the supervision and monitoring of Housekeeping, Food Central, and Interior Building Maintenance.As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:Supervising team of 60+ unionized staff, including performance management, scheduling and payrollCompleting daily inspections of selected areas and reviewing preventative maintenance proceduresCoordinating minor and chargeable repairs to the building and premises; liaising with contractors and monitoring contactors' performanceReviewing and monitoring building functions while providing day-to-day support to the Manager, MaintenanceCustomer Service Excellence; liaising between tenants and management regarding operational issues, while guiding tenants on appropriate corrective measuresProviding input for annual budget and control expenses within area of responsibilityActive participation in the Square One Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), ensuring the safety of all employees and addressing/actioning on any concerns with managementAdministering company rules, policies and procedures while maintaining employee morale and well-beingParticipating in Oxford's employee engagement programs and assisting with developing best practices within area of responsibilityAssisting with emergency situations (except those which may impose any health or safety risks)Inventory control for all equipment/supplies, and ordering supplies using a purchase order systemOther duties assigned by management from time-to-timeYou will also be responsible for delegating the following tasks as necessary:Maintaining sidewalks and parking areas ensuring they are free from litter and debrisCleaning debris from water fountain/water featureMaintaining all green belts and shrub bedsCleaning of exterior mall elements such as waste cans, non-smoking signs, lighting poles, benches, bike racks and signageUsing high-pressure hot water systemRemoving waste/recycling bags from waste collection units in area of responsibilityTo succeed in this role, you have:5-7 years of supervisory experience in a retail shopping centre or property management related fieldPost secondary education in a related field; RPA or FMA designation is preferred. Health and Safety certification is considered an assetStrong conflict resolution skills while dealing with sensitive and high-emotion situations. Good judgement is requiredGeneral building construction knowledge is requiredExperience supervising unionized employees is a strong assetExperience managing a large team, while dealing customers, tenants, external contractors and senior managementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to thrive in a fast paced, team oriented environment, while supporting fellow Supervisors and management teamExceptional customer service skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsComputer and technology skills - proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
