OPEN POSITIONRe-adaptation OfficerCOMPETITION NUMBERWEM-4499LOCATION OF WORKÉcole Secondaire Maquatua EeyouNATURE OF WORKThe principal and customary work of an employee inthis class of employment consists of collaborating inre-education programs or re-adaptation programswith students experiencing social maladjustments,school-related problems, or problems with socio-emotional behaviour or learning difficulties.CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONSThrough the use of measuring techniques andinstruments that are proper to his/her discipline, there-adaptation officer evaluates student’s behaviourbrought to his/her attention by the first observationsof the teachers which reveal a possibility ofmaladjustment at the socio-emotional level or at thenormal learning process level.Participates with the appropriate multidisciplinaryteam, in the study of cases so as to determine thenecessary measures for re-education.Under the responsibility of the school administrationand in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team,participates in developing the measures designed toattain the objectives determined in an IndividualEducation Plan.Recommends appropriate training and re-educationprograms and ensures that these programs are carriedout.Regroups the students who are identified as havingcommon problems and meets these groups on aregular basis for specific activities.Meets certain students having specific problems inorder to help their integration in a re-education groupor their integration in a regular group.POSTE OUVERTAgent de réadaptationNO DE CONCOURSWEM-4499LIEU DE TRAVAILMaquatua Eeyou Secondary SchoolNATURE DU TRAVAILLe travail principal et habituel du détenteur de ce titredemploi consiste à collaborer aux programmes derééducation ou de réadaptation pour des étudiantssouffrant dinadaptation sociale, de problèmesassociés à l’école, de problèmes de comportementsocioaffectif ou de difficultés dapprentissage.ATTRIBUTIONS CARACTÉRISTIQUESÀ l’aide de techniques de mesure et des instrumentsqui sont propres à sa discipline, l’agent deréadaptation évalue le comportement de létudiantréféré, par l’étude des premières observations desenseignants qui indiqueraient la possibilité duneinadaptation socioaffective ou un problème lié auprocessus dapprentissage.Participe avec léquipe multidisciplinaire appropriéeà des études de cas afin de déterminer les mesuresnécessaires à la rééducation.Sous la responsabilité de ladministration de lécoleet conjointement avec léquipe multidisciplinaire,participe au développement de mesures destinées àatteindre les objectifs déterminés à l’intérieur d’unplan denseignement individuel.Recommande les programmes de formation et derééducation appropriés et sassure que cesprogrammes sont mis en place.Regroupe les étudiants partageant des problèmescommuns identifiés et rencontre ces groupesrégulièrement pour des activités spécifiques.Rencontre certains étudiants aux prises avec desproblèmes spécifiques, dans le but de faciliter leurintégration à un groupe de rééducation ou dans ungroupe régulier.A F F I C H A G E I N T E R N E E T E X T E R N EP O S T I N G I N T E R N A L A N D E X T E R N A LLa priorité sera accordée aux bénéficiaires cries qualifiésPriority shall be given to qualified Cree BeneficiariesRefers the student to the appropriate services asrequired.Observes situations and works with students reactingto their environment and counsels them; appliesintervention techniques conductive to calm andorder; provides support to the teacher to ensure anenvironment conductive to learning in the classroom.Counsels students who, following a sanction, mustreceive instruction in another room, determines withthe students concerned and with the staff involved inintervention efforts for reintegration into theclassroom.Records observations and interventions, keeps filesand prepares reports on a student’s situation.Prepares the material and the development of theactivities necessary for re-education, analyses andidentifies the student’s behaviour in the re-educationgroups.Establishes close contacts with the parents, teachersand other implicated professionals.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty,notably psycho education.Fluency in English is required.Fluency in French is an asset.Knowledge of the Cree Language a definite asset.EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONSRegular Full-Time.35 hrs/weekSALARYSalary: $24.87/h to $43.06/hNorthern Allowance: $10,015.00 - $17,652.00Retention Premium: $5,500.00- $10,000.00BEGINNING OF EMPLOYMENTAs soon as possibleAu besoin, recommande létudiant aux servicesappropriés.Observe des situations et travaille avec des étudiantsqui sont en réaction avec leur environnement et lesconseille; applique des techniques dinterventionconduisant à lordre et au calme; offre son soutien àlenseignant afin d’obtenir un environnementfavorisant lapprentissage en classe.Conseille les étudiants qui, suite à une sanction,doivent poursuivre leur apprentissage dans une autrepièce.
